Is 46 league games too many for part time football. I think it is. Premier league only play 38 with massive full time squads. I think Dennis Strudwick messed up making it a 24 team league.

Too many Tuesday, Saturday, Tuesday runs even without cup and weather rescheduling.

Of course it's too many. I believe the clubs had no say in the ridiculous decision and really wonder what were the reasons given at the time. Usually money talks but you only have to look at last night's attendance to grasp that midweek football in midwinter is not an attraction. I don't remember people complaining that they were starved of football that season when we only had 21 clubs - I'd support a league of 20. But of course whatever the number in the NL, our level has to be the same. Why?

Was the decision made to allow for the reorganisation of leagues and promotion and relegation. If we had 20 clubs then four would go down leaving just 14 safe (2 being promoted). If only 2 went down then that would only allow for 1 up from NLN and NLS. Then if they had 20 clubs and 2 went down...there are four feeder leagues. Oh well, I expect that all had something to do with it.
