In view of Sol Campbell’s ‘gutter’ comment there would be some irony if he did get the job and his first game in charge was at Cheddar!

I don't know when the announcement will be made but some communication with the community about how the search is going would be nice! It has been over 2 weeks now since GO left.

That's a fair point, SP, but what would you expect to be communicated? The club is obviously not going to reveal the identity of the new manager until everything is signed and sealed. Once this happens the supporters will be informed by the club (and presumably the community shareholders by the Society).

In the meantime you can take it from me that the whole process has been carried out in a most professional way and I believe that the relatively long wait will have been worthwhile.

CP, clearly I'm not asking for the naming of names, but perhaps a statement from the club to say they have had any applicants at all? Wink That the process is in fact going well? Perhaps a timescale? Like that They expect an announcement in the coming days/weeks? Not just this silence from the club.

I'm sure it is being handled professionally and that the chosen candidate will be the boards best candidate. As long as that candidate isn't Steve Evans, Mark Sampson, Alan Pridham or Steve Claridge!!

I think I'm just impatient

My main responsibility is not to the community, but I am the Supporter Liaison Officer. If you look back through this thread you will see that I did invite anyone to contact me with concerns or have a chat in the bar after matches. If necessary, I could have passed those concerns on to the relevant people at the club.

To be fair, the club did make an announcement shortly after the departure of GO....

http://www.bathcityfc.com/a-message-from-the-chairman/

I don't think it would make sense to have given a timescale as the club would then have been criticised if dates had passed with no news. And I think you'll find that I did post earlier that the vacancy had attracted a lot of interest and that the process was going well. Admittedly that was only communicated to the readers of this forum.

However, I'm sure there will be a review of the whole process by the board and I'll raise your points then. Fingers crossed that the long wait will soon be over!

It also wouldn’t surprise me if Adie is kept on to do scouting as he and Jerry are good friends.

Must admit I’m a bit surprised. I know he had a brief stint in charge of Weymouth a few years back when they were in turmoil. Sounds like he’s done well since. He was a great player as well, very highly thought of from managers.

I am surprised as well. Thought we might have gone for somebody with a bit more managerial experience, particularly at this level. Having said that, hopefully everybody will give him their full backing.

Yeah CP that didn't disappoint! Jerry is a very respected guy in the local football circles and his academy connections will continue city's growing reputation as a place talented young professionals grow and can learn!

Also fantastic news Jimmer is staying on, something just wouldn't feel right without him around.

I can hear the chants of "Jerry! Jerry! Jerry! already!

With his interest in youth team football I think this is a great appointment. Unlike at Weymouth he is starting with a team that has very solid foundations and no doubt he has fresh ideas to invigorate the club (which to be fair so did GO).

i hope not
Towards the end of his tenure, brought alot of division to the club along with Rigby and Howells.
How long before he saw himself as more than just a scout?.

I think the silence was excellent, we know people were being interviewed and nothing will announced til an appointment made.

Yes, it seems from the outside the whole process was handled very professionally.

Of course, they may have held a jelly wrestling contest that Jerry won but I still think it is a very good appointment.
