Ken Loach fundraiser

There will be a screening of 'Jimmy's Hall' at the Watershed Cinema in Bristol on June 2nd at 6.00 with the proceeds being shared between the Club, the Foundation and the Supporters' groups.

It is about a Dance Hall in rural ireland in the 1930s and the free spirits who run it.    As well as KL, leading actor Barry Ward will be there to talk about it. Barry also plays for an amateur team and will be just as happy discussing football as the film! Jim Rollo is hoping to be there with possibly one or two other players.  

Although it's in Bristol, we hope that, since it is to raise funds for the club and its activities, some supporters will come along for this special event.

Society members will have a short email arriving in their inbox today about the event. It doesn't say sold out, on the website, but hopefully it will be very soon!

I received an update from Ken today. Both Jim and Adie will be there on Monday. If you are going, try to get there for 5.30 as Ken is organising a Chronicle photographer.

Also, most of the box office receipts for the screening will be divided between club, Foundation, Society and SC. A great gesture by the Watershed.

Just got back from the Watershed. If you get the chance, do go and see the film as it's excellent. Ken was on top form during the Q + A session at the end. Such a pity the lead actor couldn't join him - sadly his father died at the weekend and he had to return to Ireland.

Good turn out of City supporters and Adie was joined by Jim, Sekani and Jason Mellor.
