His usual line is that when he was playing well so were England, and when England were poor so was he.

See that Laubschagne signed for another 2 years at Div 2 Glamorgan in face of other interest. What on earth can they be paying him ! Sure we would have been interested. With counties snapping up overseas players now, keen to know who we can get.

Yes, that was his line yesterday. I assume Middx were after the Aussie - he’d have been just what we want.

We’ll have some catching up to do next season - “Somerset have been penalised 24 points (12 of them suspended for two years) after the Taunton pitch for the Championship decider against Essex was rated "poor" because of "excessive unevenness of bounce". They have a fortnight to appeal.”

Quite why it has taken the ECB nearly two months to hand out this penalty is baffling, but it’s been a long time coming. I wonder what would have happened if Essex had lost that final game - surely the deduction would have applied to last season.
