We have had a request from someone at Southampton to see if anyone can put him in touch with ex-Bath C player Roy Oakley.

As an Official Historian of Southampton FC, David Bull is writing the obituary of Bryn Elliott, who's just died, making 91 year-old Roy the official oldest ex-Saint.

He'd like to discuss that with him but the tel no he has for him is recording 'unavailable'.

Any help would be appreciated. PM me if you can help.

Long before my time (!) but the archive states...

Tipton-born full-back Roy spent a number of years at Southampton without ever becoming a first-team regular. He joined City during the summer of 1957 and went on to play over 60 games in the next two seasons
