Agreed, but not with Adie's comment about the strength of this season's league. Ebbsfleet are clearly going to win it and other clubs' fans who've seen them have talked up Oxford. But of those I've seen, only Maidstone really impressed (but I did miss Havant...)

I thought Maidenhead were pretty decent.

Havant are underachieving ridiculously.

I think it's more a case of the number of clubs who appear to be throwing money at it. So far, though, only Ebbsfleet appear to be getting any return for the money.

Exciting stuff for Saturday. Top signings...

With Barrow gone we'll also need a new match day mascot

Yes, let's hope they can kick start the season. Would it be too greedy to hope Kaid can repeat those modest efforts at Cambridge and Bromley?

Good luck to Barrow - despite his size, he looks an excellent prospect and I think we should have made greater use of him during his short stay.

Yeoman is a striker as well according to Wikipedia.

Then again that has some claims about his quizzing ability on there as well, so he might not even be a footballer.

Perhaps he could be guest star at the next quiz night

Yep, looks like we've signed 3 attacking players when we could've done with a left back and a centre back!

Yeoman seems to be an out and out striker with some league experience, but mainly been on loan. Main thing is he's average height!

John seems to be an attacking midfielder who can play left, right or centre. He has premier league (albeit Welsh Premier League) experience. According to his Twitter feed he's been working at a place called Tic Toc in Cardiff.

Feeling more positive about Saturday now. More attacking threat.

We do need goals so the arrival of some fresh attacking players is very welcome.

Well there were grumblings from your team last time that you needed replacing!

Yes, he sounds an interesting bloke. More on Quizgate and other things from Wiki...

Away from football Yeoman enjoys playing golf; he regularly practices at Thurlestone Golf Club. At the age of eight, he scored a hole in one on the 13th. The hole has since been known as 'Little Yeoman'. Ashley is always involved in the local community. He donates 10% of his wages to the South West Coast Path local restoration fund and as such has a bench near Hope Cove in his honour.

People also know Ashley Yeoman as the 'Lance Armstrong of Thurlestone' after winning the Village Inn Quiz title seven years in a row. His last title came in June 2015 although the win was suspicious as Yeoman was overheard asking for the new wifi password hours before the event.

If the new front men prove effective I would be tempted to convert Dave Pratt into a defensive midfield player. A position that has been sadly lacking for a while.

What does the forum think is now our first choice forward line?
i.e. who gets dropped?

Assuming Kaid goes back to his left forward position, Watto is looking at 10 weeks twiddling his thumbs. I'm just looking forward to seeing some pace and power from Mohamed again, happy days bounce

Pace of Watkins and Kaid supplying a rejuvenated Pratt while McCootie knocks seven bells out of the defence....wininng, 5-4, 6-5, 4-3, etc.

I just hope that he is given the freedom that he needs from the management to play his game...

I don't recall any problems with this last time out? He excelled on the left after a slow start in the Conference. Think in Conf South he played through the middle more, almost alongside Edwards, before they changed that for the next seasonand it worked brilliantly.

Good move by the management team, that. I'll be crucified for saying such a thing.

I agree.  As long as the players are allowed to play to their strengths it appears to be good signings.

While I agree with someone else that our dodgy defence has not been improved, the lack of goals scored was becoming a critical problem and at least that has been addressed.
It will be a good move if it proves to be more than a short term fix. We seem to be assuming a familiar policy - too small a squad, bolstered by loanees. The problem with Kaid is that if he does very well, he will get snapped up by someone, and if he doesn't then he's not much use to us. But the bottom line is that the present squad is not good or large enough.

Despite the ridiculously uneven season our League position makes us attractive for new players and who want to move up as Kaid presmuably does, hes a proven goalscorer, and the upside is that none will be FA Cup tied if they do !
