Re: 5 out of 5
From twitter it sounds like an action packed game with us missing several chances to kill the game. Another penalty award too. Perhaps we won't get another one for 5 years after this run. Keep going guys and let's hope for a bumper crowd next week.

What an unbelievable start. Sounds like we are not really clicking yet - missing chances and not that fluent - but winning
Getting results and not at our best - bodes well.
I am looking forward to next Saturday when I'll be there but wondering who the next centre back will be.
What a great time to be a city fan!

Just got home. Great day out. Good pub, company, ale. Good win, should have scored more but wow, how did they not get one back towards the end. Happy daze. I think the young lad from Forest Gump had severe cramp (should have had fluid before the game like I did!) so I hope to see him play on Saturday.

Great stuff Rob.
I had hoped to be there today but failed.
Will be there next Saturday. See you then?
Glad the new guy might be alright. Sounds like he played well.
Also sounds like we missed some good chances.

Just saw the team bus driving up along the Paragon. Did a little jig.

Really missed McCootie in the second half, he is scaring defences like mad.
Bladwin looked good so hopefully ok for Havant.
Nice day out and a win is a win...

I managed to get a few photos of the gathering after the game. I can confirm it went like this: https://youtu.be/dYBj_qAJtRA

As a coincidence we reached 15 points last season with a win over St Albans although that was as people were putting away their Halloween costumes for another year and looking forward to bonfire night a few days later.

A very nervy game - one pleasing thing is the defending though. I'm sure in previous seasons we would have conceded at least 2 yesterday!

Re: 5 out of 5
A fantastic start to the season. Though we have been very lucky to not concede more, and we need to get much better at finishing the chances that do come our way.
We've also played 3 of our 5 games against sides who are propping up the bottom of the table so far, with Weston up in a weeks' time as well. It's only once we've played the likes of Ebbsfleet, Hemel and Gosport that we'll really see how the season is shaping up.
But a great start none-the-less, and hopefully one we can keep rolling on beyond the Bank Holiday weekend !

Re: 5 out of 5
Agreed. With the exception of Maidenhead, we have played some pretty dire teams so far. However, I think it would be fair to say that we're probably not playing at our best either? The defence has been far better than I expected, but further forward I don't think we've really clicked. Hemmings has struggled in each game, McCootie is clearly not fully fit and Pratt is under par. His bad miss at the end of Saturday's game summed up his season so far as far as taking chances is concerned - his dubious touch in the first game is a poor return from five games.
Perhaps better teams than we have already played will encourage us to step up another gear.
One other thing from Saturday, which I haven't noticed being mentioned. I thought the loanee was excellent, hardly putting a foot or head wrong. Let's hope he doesn't miss the upcoming games.

Re: 5 out of 5
Only seen the Wealdstone and Whitehawk games but i wouldn't describe either of the 2 as being dire when they played us. Obviously it is too early to be getting carried away by the excellent start and we have been fortunate to win all 5 games, but equally it is surely time to enjoy the success and not be too critical. To me McCootie looks much fitter than last season and in both games i watched the defences struggled to cope with him. What does appear to be true is that we are much better organised at the back and until now haven't conceded any stupid goals.

Re: 5 out of 5
I suppose it depends on one's definition of 'dire'. Perhaps I was a little unfair on Wealdstone (although their record since playing us suggests they will struggle), but Whitehawk really were awful on the day. McCootie looks sharper than last season, but he is clearly struggling (hamstring?)

Yes, I mentioned this on commentary first half. Looked very composed and always wanted to play the ball out. Must admit I was a bit concerned in one attack where he stayed up alongside Pratt and McCootie instead of back to his normal position, but Chas was filling in. He probably worked out by then how toothless St. Albans were up front so he could get away with it.
