Good idea, Steve. It will hopefully, jog the memories a few of our older supporters who have become 'armchair' footie fans !

I imagine that would be an interesting read for the average bath resident - shame its not in the hard copy paper where more would see it. By the way whats this West Ham Stadium - demolished 1972? not sure I've ever heard of it!
Many would be interested in the little known fact that the great Vivian Richards had a trial - but we turned him down (unlike some other local clubs who took on famous test cricketers just for publicity!)

Boston United were Northern Premier League champions in 1977/78, not Wigan Athletic. And, strictly speaking it wasn't "head-to-head", City were up against Hartlepool United, York City, Southport and Rochdale (the bottom four clubs in the Fourth Division) as well as Wigan Athletic.

City were one of England's representatives along with Northwich Victoria, Scarborough, Chelmsford City, Redditch United and Y**vil Town in 1977 and Nuneaton Borough, Minehead, Maidstone United, Wealdstone and Bangor City (that's Bangor in Wales!) in 1978.

It make it into the print copy of the Chron last week, as one of our two pages. Though it was reduced down to 'Nine things' due to space restrictions.

Had the expanded explanation been added to the article, it would have ended up being 'Three Things You May not Know about Bath City'... Razz
