I had a look at this recently for some reason and I don't think any other countries have as many professional or even semi-pro tiers, let alone national tiers.

Germany only introduced a national 3rd division in 2008. Spain regionalises at the third tier, as does Italy's Seria C. France has 3 national divisions, but the third tier is semi-pro - I wonder how they manage, that's a much bigger country! Dunkerque v Bastia, that's quite an away match:

It probably makes sense for our third tier to be semi pro too but it won't happen.
