Chairman finally comments - Page 2 Empty Re: Chairman finally comments

The more I look at it, the more PW's comments are absolutely appalling. As someone mentioned on Facebook, the management - both in the dug-out and in the boardroom - have to have corporate responsibility. Even taking out the managerial-speak, this mean that you protect your players publicly, even if you are giving them a bollocking in the dressing room. What you don't do is say "We don't know what went on", "It may be the younger players" and then "It's the players' fault"

I mean, for goodness sake, we have got a panopoly of people in the dug-out with indistinct roles and yet none of them are going to stand up and take responsibility? They choose the tactics, the formation and the players and yet they hide behind the chairmen's vote of 'confidence'? There will be some players who will take this public  criticism and maybe feed on it - hard workers like Pratt, chippy little sods like Stearn and even those that have soaked up the criticism like Hemmings. However, there are those the are lacking in confidence already and those that are new to the team that are going to be disheartened by it and, unfortunately, I think we have more of the latter presently.

Going slightly off track, I would have been quite intrigued to hear what one of the players had to say about the defeat, but my guess is they've been requested to not speak to the press?
