Bath City Internet Radio is down, looks like I'll be resorting to flash score for updates

just as I feared Simmo, who has been superb, makes way for a loanee.

Unforgivable to miss penalties away from home. Keeper only got a yellow unbelievable decision.

Disappointing but we didn't offer much 2 nd half.

Re: Bromley away
Nowhere near as bad as the performance at Concord, but that was poor today. Like last Saturday, a lack of urgency in the first half prevented us taking advantage of our superiority and we never turned up for the 2nd half. At times we played like we have been doing at Twerton this season. People will rightly moan at the ref's decision not to send off their keeper, but he didn't miss the penalty.

A disappointing second half, seemed a bit flat after the missed pen

Re: Bromley away
It was pretty poor altogether. We never found our stride although should have been ahead at half time. The mood was affecting everyone. Dave Pratt was particularly out of sorts. Bromley were quite a lively side but they too didn't contribute much quality to the encounter on a difficult soft pitch. Perhaps they all need a week off.

It was a game where everything that could go wrong did.
A very restrained Adie said - “Overall, I think we should have got something out of today. We were unfortunate and we feel a little bit aggrieved, and we don't normally feel like that. We normally just accept results. If people beat us and they are the better side we say so but today sticks in the throat a bit." - Fair comment.

This is a feature of Bath City while I have been watching. We have never gone at teams and indeed often start sluggishly.
Having said that you wouldn't expect a gung ho approach away from home.

I am surprised by Adie's comments Mr Nash. The radio commentary sounded very one sided second half. You need to take your chances when you are on top.

Re: Bromley away
Well they were on top of possession and created more chances in the second half than the first but their penalty looked fortunate and they should have been down to 10 men long before. Ok, so we fluffed our big chance but I can see what he means.

Re: Bromley away
I don't. We were the better side in the 1st half and failed to score. Bromley were superior in the 2nd and scored. Simplistic, I know, but it all sounds like sour grapes following the referee's decision not to send off the keeper.

Re: Bromley away
plus of course the other 2 decisions we are complaining about. I agree with Adie that Pratt appeared to run from an onside position, but rest assured we would have been appealing for a penalty had the Bromley one been against our player. Still a surprising decision though...

Re: Bromley away
The important aspects of this game are that the management aren't to blame for the defeat, we could have won it given different referee decisions and Dave scoring the penalty, but Dave will win us a lot more games in the future.
I think this squad needs strengthening to compete in Conference Premier, but ought to be good enough to get in the play offs if we can keep everyone fit. The Cup runs are vitally important for all sorts of reasons.

Re: Bromley away
I agree with a mixture of the above comments. In particular:-
I was agrieved at the final score - we deserved to have drawn or even won the match - particularly astonished that Dave was given offside - even the adjacent home supporters disagreed with the ref.
If Bromley are one of the favourites for promotion this year, then I am upbeat enough to say that we will be in a play-off position, at least, come the end of the season. When we are a completely injury-free unit again, with genuine competition for places in mid-field once more, we will be a force to be reckoned with.

There is a video of the two penalty incidents on Bromly's home website.

I don't think it will come as a huge surprise to see that the video confirms the referee got both decisions hopelessly wrong. Given the pace McCootie was running he would clearly have got to the ball in time to shoot at goal so was denied a 'clear goalscoring opportunity' and their penalty was three players running into each other under a massively over-hit cross - if anything it's a free-kick to us. Shame they didn't show the disallowed goal but perhaps they'd rather keep another decision that favoured them quiet.
But there we go, what's done is done, and if these sort of decisions even themselves out over a season, getting a couple of shockers in our favour on Saturday wouldn't go amiss.

Re: Bromley away
Yes, the film backs up our claim that a red card should have been given. But I don't think it proves a thing over their penalty award.
Personally, I hope the refereeing shockers in our favour are saved for when we go to Whitehawk (assuming they haven't got rid of you know who before then)
