Brazil are not worthy
What a horrible team - non stop gamesmanship - and as Chris Waddle has just said on the radio, will surely be the worst World Cup winners ever if their run continues. Come on Germany!

Kinda agree, but they have a resilience some teams could learn from as well as being under loads of pressure. Favourites scoring first has done nothing for the quarter finals.

All 3 games have been very disappointing. I can't believe USA would have thrown in the towel like Belgium have just done. Please Costa Rica, have a real go tonight!

the worst feeling i ever felt coming out of a game was the 1996 euro semi final
never want to feel like that after a game of football again

Fair enough. But German football is on a different planet to ours and we could learn much from it. And these Brazilians aren't arrogant?

I do feel that the referees have been told to be lenient with the Brazilians but they do have a powerful side despite not playing attractively with the quality at their disposal. Will Brazillians care that Scollari is grunting his way to World Cup glory when they could be entertaining the world? I think not.

Re: Brazil are not worthy
No matter what sort of side they have out, the Germans have this incredible power to reach at least the semi-finals in almost all major tournaments. It's an amazing record and I for one am quite envious of it. WC 2002 was the main one, they were dismal in Euro 2000 and were stuffed by England in qualifying, yet still managed to reach the final where they lost to a fellow fairly average side in Brazil, who were dragged through by Ronaldo.
Neymar should be a massive miss for Brazil, similar to if Messi was injured/suspended for Argentina. Holland and Germany seem to be more reliant on team performance than one individual doing it for them.
I personally hope Germany win, mainly because I have them at 5/1 e/w...

Re: Brazil are not worthy
Same old boring Germany then!
Main problem for Brazil tonight was not that they were facing a class team or missing their show pony talisman, but that the game was reffed by a bloke who saw right through their cheating. Marcelo and Luiz had nothing to fall back on. Brazil have reminded me of Stoke under Pulis - long ball tactics and rough up your opponents.

Comrade called it...The poorest Brazilian team I have ever seen, well done Germany and a testimony to the Bundesliga, but how many German players play in it?

Re: Brazil are not worthy
It was a staggering game.
Brazil, who have been no more than average all tournament, were taught a footballing lesson by the powerhouses of Germany, who in my opinion still don’t get the plaudits they deserve. They went to the tournament with two recognised strikers and have scored 17 goals in six games. It’s stunning.
Although yesterday they were helped. At half-time I thought surely even Brazil would just shut up shop and prevent further humiliation. There was one break when it was four on one in Germany’s favour with Luiz just strolling back, they were helped out by Cesar at that point. This was at 5-0 down! What were they trying to achieve? This German side are class but teams like Algeria and Ghana worked out how to contain them and stay disciplined, in fact on another day Algeria could have beaten them, but Brazil were completely clueless. And then they resorted to their tactic of diving about in the second half, which fortunately didn’t work. My only criticism is that the referee didn’t book any of them, Maicon’s was the worst.
Hopefully tonight Holland will breeze past a similarly no-thrills Argentina side, but in their case the latter still have their star man available, so I predict a much tighter clash.

The day the world stood still. Showed that the real loss was Thiago Silva for a totally unnecessary foul.

Re: Brazil are not worthy
perhaps the biggest mistake was made by big phil when he chose his squad. atletico madrid had probably the best defence in europe last season and i thought at the time that his alternatives must be damned good if he can afford to leave Filipe Luis and Miranda out. equally astounding was his decision to make luiz the stand in captain. surely the role requires more than clasping your missing messiah's shirt as you belt out your national anthem and offering a prayer every 5 minutes. at 50 million, PSG have got themselves a real bargain...

Re: Brazil are not worthy
i can't understand why luiz is put in defence.
he can't defend thats all there is to it
i think he would be a world class attacking midfielder
got good pace,skill and shot.
if me and probably the rest of the world see this why can't managers
totaly baffling

Re: Brazil are not worthy
Germans should have had double figures last night.
they should win it now
they even celebrated like they won a game at the world cup
not like in the quater final.
they celebrated like they just won a friendly
it will take some performance by holland or argentina to beat them

Re: Brazil are not worthy
they were probably embarrassed. whoever they play in the final will surely provide better opponents that the dreadful brazil. I'd imagine germany will prefer argentina, despite the huge support they would have. holland/germany is always a grudge match and the dutch are on a great run.

I assume you feel the same about Michael Owen, Steven Gerrard and Daniel Sturridge's blatant diving, to name but three England players?
