Also, now looking highly likely that Salisbury will be expelled from the Conference again, which would mean that Conference South lose Dartford (who would be back in Conference National), and regain Tonbridge Angels (who would be reprieved).

More AGM Cup winners.

Urgh, So likely to be just the one new ground next season - Wealdstone.

And I'd just started typing the Lowestoft history for the programme the other day. Why can't Hereford think about things like this whilst they're going bust?

I have felt for some time that the Conference Premier needs to stop imagining it is a big money league and that reality needs to set in.  On the face of it this is happening with clubs increasingly being called to account when they don't pay their bills.
However this is not the same as being run sustainably, ie money out = money in.
As long as clubs are allowed to trade at a loss, which is then paid off by a wealthy individual, nothing will really change. In Salisbury and Hereford's case they just haven't got someone to subsidise the losses otherwise they'd still be in the Premier.
The apparent financial tightening up by the league is just making it easier for the clubs that have got a backer to rule the roost.  They can continue to trade at a loss, paying bigger wages whilst the 'sustainable clubs fall further behind.

Couldn't agree more. Either make Conf Prem the new League 3 or do away with promotion/relegation between the 2 levels. At present it has very little to do with non league football.

I disagree with this Comrade. There has to be the possibility of getting into the league (and weak teams dropping out). It would not be healthy for football in general if it didn't happen. However there needs to be a difference between league and non-league but until all the teams in conference prem are semi-professional it won't happen.

Unfortunately there always seem to be ways round any rules and the FL do not have a great record of weeding out the wrong-uns.

i agree with the need for non league clubs having the opportunity to get into the league and accept that the present system is better than the old election/re-election process. but what we have at present is certainly not 'healthy' for non league football. only one club wins a place in league 2 on merit (being champions) and i guess the outstanding team usually benefits. i suppose the problem is the play offs, which encourages most of the other 23 to dream beyond their means. only one of them can win the 2nd coveted place and with increasing harm done to the others. we are well out of it...

All the impressive progress up the Leagues that Yeovil, Stevenage, Crawley, and now Fleetwood, have done, yes albeit with money, is undone with the end of season AGM Cup fiasco, so no wonder the League arent exactly pushing on with 3 up 3 down.

Now Salisbury expelled, gives Fred Karno a bad name. Salisbury blaming everyone bar themselves:

June 13, 2014 1:23 pm

Salisbury City FC are facing expulsion from the Conference on Tuesday after the leagues board decided to relegate them today, despite meeting certain financial demands placed on them.

On Friday £75,000 was transferred into the club solicitors client account to meet unpaid debts. The Conference board have also been given assurances that in the next seven days, the funds to meet all outstanding club debts will be paid. However, because of a legal issue in relationship to ownership of the club, the Conference board have decided to throw Salisbury City FC out of the league on Tuesday. It staggers belief that this is a Conference board who were quite happy, along with the FA, to endorse the appointment of Otail Touzar but following forensic investigation by the club to expose him as a fraudster, are now using him as an excuse to throw Salisbury City FC out of the league.

Following legal advice, Salisbury City FC will now consider taking an injunction out on the Conference or taking the case to an FA independent appeal board. It is disappointing that the Conference have failed to give the club a 7 day extension to clear up their financial irregularities and as a result of their imminent action it leaves Salisbury City FC with no choice but to take legal steps to safeguard their future

FOOTBALL CONFERENCE STATEMENT
June 13, 2014 4:58 pm
Following the below statement from the conference that will see Salisbury city FC playing in the conference south next season, Salisbury City Football club and it’s lawyers are considering our next steps. Once a decision has been taken, we will make a further announcement.
“The Club has failed to meet the requirement to settle all football creditors in cleared funds by 5pm Thursday 12 June 2014. Furthermore, it has also failed to provide a financial bond of £50,000.00 by the same time and date. These elements constitute two of four requirements unanimously set by members of the Board of the Football Conference Ltd, in attendance and eligible to vote, on Friday 6 June which, if fulfilled, would enable the Club to retain its membership of the Conference National Division. If unfulfilled the Club was advised at the meeting it would be liable to be expelled from the Competition and the Company under Article 5.2 or be relegated.
At a Board meeting today (13 June) the Directors considered various issues relating to the Club’s financial stability, in particular the Club’s failure to provide the Bond and its failure to settle all its football creditors by the due date. The Directors in attendance at the meeting, and eligible to vote, unanimously agreed to invoke the latter part of its previous decision and relegate Salisbury City FC from the Conference Premier to Conference South. Furthermore, if a Bond of £50,000.00 (or a Bank Guarantee) is not deposited, and the football creditors have not been settled in cleared funds, by 5.00pm on Friday 4 July 2014, the Club will be expelled from the Competition and the Company.
The consequence of today’s decision means Dartford FC will be reprieved from relegation to Conference South and will be replaced in the constitution of this Division by Salisbury City.”
