What of Jack Compton? Was he in the squad? I was otherwised engaged last night and no detailed report in the Chronicle.

Either there was a hell of a slant at either end of the pitch or that camera wasn't levelled. Another reason to be thankful for Romans On Demand.

Marvin, erm, did well to get the penalty.

Keep your eye on the ball, the next defender basically hits it away with his hand, I assumed initially that the penalty had been given for that. The second penalty appeal was absolutely stone wall, far more of a foul than he one he gave.

Unused sub. Hope to see more of him - he must have something about him to have played at a higher level than this .

Quite correct. Marvin has been upended in the box several times this season without winning a penalty. At Truro on Tuesday, he was hauled to the ground, but straight away a Truro defender handled in the box. Marvin should definitely had penalties awarded at Bognor and probably against Chelmsford, he is really a handful for the opposition at the moment.

Chronicle has now explained why Gary, and presumably Nick, were sat in the dressing room for the whole of the second half.
The refs this year, so far, have been quite poor.
Let's hope for better at Havant.

Sounds like Gary was almost placed under locked house arrest!  Never heard of a Manager being 'locked' in the dressing room during a match before and not even allowed to watch from the stands.....can a referee do that??

Mind you having seen the penalty shout for the Morgan foul on TV clip I am not surprised he asked the ref why he didn't give it - it was an appalling decision.

Why are refs so scared to give stone wall decisions in the box when outside the box they will blow for the slightest little nudge and not think twice, often disrupting the flow of the game?

Great win though and even though it wasn't a great game by all accounts, the 3pts look pretty good when you have lost 3 on the trot.

Well done to Gary, Jim & the players...cheers

You can tell from the reaction of at least two Truro players that that was a stonewall penalty.

Feeling a lot brighter this morning than for this time last week for some reason ! Lets keep it going against Havant on Sat who I watched at Chippenham.

PS. We need to be  prepared for another team who seem long throw specialists as well !!

Eh? Whats WestonPundit on about? If we continue this form we're looking at mid-table at best I reckon?

What is wrong with making a positive post following a good win after 3 disappointing results? Yes, our present points average suggests us finishing on around 50 points - mid table as you predict, but that's very brave based on just 5 matches.

In my humble opinion it takes up to 10 matches before you can look at the table a get a reasonable idea of whereabouts we might finish. This might seem a lot of games but I think it takes a manager that long to try all the various permutations of players to decide on the best formation /team.
As it happens, last year we were 9th after 10 games and finished also in 9th place.

Really, it's after the Christmas block of games that you know where you are going to be. The position that you are after the second week in January's match is the position you will usually be come the end of the season.
