Gosh, that is tragic news Junior. He must have still been a young chap. Remember him playing loads of games, probably around the time Gary Owers was first here.

I think he was Gary’s first signing, joined the same day as Ryan Northmore. And I think he was my age, definitely early 30s. He played for the likes of Mangotsfield and Bristol Manor Farm after leaving us.

Very sad news. My abiding memory of him was in a match at Welling - out of nowhere he tried a shot from the halfway line and hit the bar.

I'm sure the Welling keeper confirmed it did cross the line. He tried something similar at Staines soon after but their goalkeeper got back in time. The effort drew applause from the entire crowd.

He was 33. No age.
